Greg Roe first brought It’s Only Rock N’ Roll to air in July of 2003, the same year Canoe FM officially started broadcasting. Growing up in Scarborough (just outside Toronto), Greg got hooked on radio, when at night he could pick up radio stations out of the States playing the likes of Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy.
The show chronicles rock n’ roll from Little Richard and Chuck Berry to The Beatles and Rolling Stones, and beyond. He also likes to feature more eclectic music that people haven’t heard before.
The show features a theme and includes weekly segments: Back to Back Trax, Far Out Pete’s Psychedelic Selection and The Last Dance, ‘which is always a slow dance’.
Today Greg hosts the show on a bi-weekly basis alternating with Off The Beaten Tracks host, Jim Anstess.
John’s journey in radio has taken him from Sarnia to CBC Radio in Toronto and now to Canoe FM. He will help kickstart your weekend with great music, interviews, news at 5pm and lots of incredible stories.
