Music Submissions

100.9 Canoe FM broadcasts a wide variety of music. We are pleased and proud to support local and Canadian musicians. If you listen to our station or are perusing our schedule you will notice that we play Rock, Country, Jazz, Funk, Folk, Blues, Gospel, Bluegrass, Pop, Alternative Rock and so much more.

As a not-for-profit volunteer-based radio station we receive many musical submissions that are either emailed to us, mailed to us or dropped off at the station.

All musical submissions are given to our Music Committee and each member of the committee will listen to the songs and determine if they are a fit for the station, which genre they fit into and if they qualify for radio play. We cannot accept cover songs unless you have permission/license from the original artist.

Approved music goes into our daytime rotation in the appropriate genre.  Approved local music will go into daytime rotation and or into our Local Talent Hour which airs on Tuesdays from 1-2pm.

Music can be submitted in the following ways: 

1. Send us your songs via E-mail in compressed Wave or MP3 format. Music should be sent to the attention of our Music Committee at music@canoefm.com. (files can be sent using a file transfer service, such as We Transfer)
    
2. We accept CD's directly from the artists. CD's can be dropped off at the station or mailed to Canoe FM at the following mailing address:

3. We also receive music from music distribution centers.

When submitting your music, please complete and submit the Music Submission Application Form below.

We use the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission’s (CRTC) MAPL system to determine whether a song qualifies as Canadian content. For more information on MAPL visit the CRTC’s website www.crtc.gc.ca
