Country Crossroads – Sally Howson or Guest Host
Take a step across the country road with host, Sally Howson, as she takes a wider listen to some newer tunes with a bit of a twist to the twang. Music that still works with the classic Country themes, “lovin’, cheatin’, hurtin’, leavin’, ‘n’ startin’ all over again”, that will ease you into the rest of your Saturday listening.
Each week an artist or band with at least one cowboy boot in the Country is highlighted; some more mainstream, and some music that crosses the road between rock, country and folk.
Tune in each Saturday to hear what’s happening in newer country music. Sally showcases great Canadian Country artists.

Tales from The Big Canoe”, is Canoe FM’s Indigenous Program, with Anishinaabe host Larry O’Connor.
Larry is an Odawa Citizen of the Sheshegwaning First Nation on the North shore of Manitoulin Island with Métis and Irish roots.Listen to “Tales From The Big Canoe” the last Wednesday of every month at 6 pm or the following Friday at 11 am, to hear our culture, traditions and music by Indigenous Artists, about services and programs for indigenous peoples, interesting stories, or events that impact the daily lives of Indigenous people across Turtle Island.
Larry enjoys incorporating music from a diverse selection of Indigenous artists into the program. The music styles range from Contemporary to the Blues and more. You might even get to hear some Métis fiddle music that will make you tap your toes and want to play the spoons!

Canoe Trivia Hour – airs on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Norma and her daughter Victoria Bingham co-host this highly interactive hour where listeners can play along and text the studio. There are 4 categories. The first category is always: What’s The Buzz? which deals with local happenings around the county. There is the tune trio question where 3 pieces of music are played, and listeners can guess what the songs have in common to win a prize! Cara will play a mix of different genres of music, with a lean in toward folk and rock. With a positive, up-beat vibe, she will keep you updated with community events, breaking news, weather, and sports.
Zero to Fifty (Pre-1950) – Ron Evans (1st, 3rd, 5th week); Your Favourite Music (2nd, 4th week)
A show focused on the music that was popular between 1900 and 1950. Music that was released in the first half of the century. You will hear many genres of music – jazz, blues, novelty, early country, war songs and even Broadway numbers.
Zero to Fifty plays the 1st and 3rd Saturday of a month and Canadian Music is played on the 2nd & 4th weeks.
