SUBJECT: Load Restrictions (Half Loads) in Effect February 27, 2024
Please be advised that Spring Load Restrictions will be in effect on all the Township of Minden Hills Highways / Roads at 12:00 AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
The unseasonably warm weather is impacting road conditions across the Township of Minden Hills. We are anticipating a quick thaw with the unseasonable warm weather occurring in our area. The load restrictions are being implemented to protect the integrity of our municipal roads during the winter thaw.
Persons contravening this regulation will be prosecuted under Section 122 of The Highway Traffic Act.
Watch for and obey posted signage.

Disturbance Overnight in Minden

HALIBURTON HIGHLANDS OPP RESPOND TO DISTURBANCE IN MINDEN
(TOWNSHIP OF MINDEN HILLS, ON) - Members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance overnight at a residence in Minden Hills.
On February 9, 2024, shortly after 4:30 am, the Haliburton Highlands OPP responded to a disturbance at a residence on Parkside Street in Minden. The investigation is ongoing and is an isolated incident. There is no concern for public safety. Residents can expect an increased police presence while this investigation continues.
Businesses and residences in the area during that time with dashcams or security cameras are being asked to check their footage for any suspicious activity.

Minden Hills is looking for Volunteers
The Minden Hills Cultural Centre is now recruiting volunteers for its year-round programs and activities. Volunteers will take part and support the Victoria Day Village opening weekend, Canada Day, “Haunting in Minden Hills”, “Christmas in the village”, and other seasonal events and festivities. They will also assist with March Break and summer camps activities as well as drop-in programs. Student volunteers who are looking for an opportunity to fulfill their community hours are encouraged to apply.
