The Township of Minden Hills, the Municipality of Dysart, the Municipality of Highlands East, and
the Township of Algonquin Highlands announce Nominations for Office for the 2026 Municipal
and School Board Elections opening May 1st, 2026.
Positions available include Mayor and Councillors at the Township of Algonquin Highlands;
Mayor and Councillor at the Municipality of Highlands East; Mayor, Deputy Mayor and
Councillor at the Township of Minden Hills; Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Councillor at the
Municipality of Dysart, and trustee for both the English Public and French Public School Boards.
The Municipality of Dysart et al will be accepting all nominations for the County of Haliburton
Trillium Lakelands District School Board Trustee for the English Public School Board.
Nominations for French Public School Board will be filed with the Clerk, City of Oshawa or a
local Municipal Clerk/Returning Officer within Sector 1, representing Counties of Haliburton,
Northumberland, Peterborough, Hastings; Cities of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, and the
Region of Durham.
Nomination forms are available at your local municipal Clerk’s Office or on each municipality’s
website. All Nomination forms and required fees must be filed by appointment with the
Clerk/Returning Officer of the appropriate municipality during normal office hours, between May
1, 2026 to Thursday, August 20, and on Nomination Day between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on
Friday, August 21.
