HALIBURTON-The Haliburton Highlands OPP has charged a driver involved in a collision with impaired operation in the Municipality of Dysart et Al.
On March 23, 2025, at 2:33 a.m., the Bracebridge and Haliburton OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred near Highway 118 and Lymburner Drive in Haliburton after a vehicle that had struck a rock cut and caught on fire. The Dysart Fire Department extinguished the fire and Haliburton County Paramedic Service (HCPS) transported the driver to the local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Following an investigation, the driver, 31-year-old from Highlands East Township was arrested and charged with the following:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Minden on May 7, 2025, to answer to these charges.
In addition to the charges, the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
