An estimated 600 people are without Bell phone and internet service in the Ross Lake, Percy Lake and Haliburton Lake area. The outage occurred last Wednesday, Oct. 16
and while Bell has let some customers know they are aware of the problem, the telecom company has not given an update since last Friday, leaving residents like Sherri Patterson frustrated.
Patterson said the area has had sketchy connection since September, but since last week’s outage, Bell has given no indication when phone and internet service are
expected to resume. Patterson says the inability to make emergency 911 calls is a major point of concern and is angered by the lack of transparency and communication with customers experiencing the outage.
100.9 Canoe FM reporter Elizabeth Oakley reached out to Bell Monday morning and Bell officials have not responded. We will provide updates on the outage as they become available.
