About the Show
Two hosts share this amazing genre of music on Sunday nights:
Zoltan Barabas: Zoltan loves discovering and sharing fascinating stories about the music, along with the historical context of the era. Zoltan also includes modern big bands such as: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and The Squirrel Nut Zippers.
He’s thrilled to have the opportunity to host the show, “Some people win the lottery, I’ve got my own show!”

Penny Randall-Mowbray: Penny’s love of big band music was inspired by her father and she is honoured to continue to share this timeless music bi-weekly on Canoe FM. When Penny hosts the show she always includes Canadian big bands still performing, birthday salutes, and she also has a regular feature “Then And Now,” which spotlights two different versions of a jazz or big band standard. We don’t forget our veterans and always include a song for them. Feature artists come to life from the Malcolm MacLean Radio Hall and sometimes we are lucky enough to get them to chat on air!
