Arts Council Haliburton Highlands Presents Bookapalooza this Fall
Calling all readers and writers. Mark Sept 24 on your calendars for Haliburton County’s inaugural Bookapalooza! No matter your age or what you like to read there is something here for you either at the daytime Trade Show or the evening Big Book Club with featured author, Terry Fallis. The event is being held at the Minden Community Centre with the Trade Show from 10:00 until 4:00 followed by the Big Book Club from 7:00 to 9:00.
Committee chair Renée Woltz states, “Bookapalooza promises to be a unique and entertaining event suitable for all ages. Whether you are looking for the next great book or song by a local creator or advice about your emerging interest in the world of reading or writing this is a not-to-be-missed event.”
The daytime Trade Show portion includes:
*Haliburton Lions Club Children's Story Corner with readings by children's authors.
*Free presentations by local authors, and songwriters. A performance by Rural Rogues.
*Trade show displays by industry pros, Haliburton/Muskoka and area authors, reader/writer gifts, music CDs
In the evening special guest author Terry Fallis appears at The Big Book Club. The format is first an interview and then a conversation with you, the audience. Don't miss an opportunity to hear a well-known Canadian author talk about his latest book and life as an author!
