A Job Opportunity
- (2008-08-11) Station Coordinator Position - Station Coordinator:
Must be a mature, organized self-starter who work wells with people and demonstrates leadership and an ability to delegate.
The right individual would have some experience in the performing arts and/or radio.
Flexibility will be important, as required (it's radio and on occasion we have to be flexible).
Good computer skills. Desire to learn.
30 hours a week - 9 to 4 pm or as required.
Roles and responsibilities -
Volunteers: -
1.Organize training sessions for on-air volunteers
2.Liaise with front office volunteers and oversee training
3.Attend monthly meeting with front office/log management volunteers
4.Recruit volunteers for designated areas
5.Maintain volunteer lists and information
6.Supervise a bi-weekly newsletter to volunteers and include minutes of the board on a monthly basis
7.Maintain volunteer agreements
Programming: -
1.Assist board with the design and implementation of programs
2.Work with the program committee to review current / potential programs and features
3.Arrange demo recording for potential on-air persons
4.Maintain program agreements
General: -
1.Supervise on-air and front office scheduling
2.Bring issues and problems to the “concerns committee” prior to the monthly board meeting.
3.Answer inquiries regarding Canoe FM
4.Assist with funding applications as required
5.Access broadcast industry resources
6.Help maintain and build policy/procedures manuals
7.Maintain “emergency services” protocol (power outages, natural disasters)

- (2008-06-29) News Team Application - Canoe Fm invites you to put in an application for our local news team. Help gather in local news, do some writing, and/or read the news. We'd like to hear from you. Reasonable computer skills, ability to write and basic grammar are our requirements. If you can commit 3 or 4 hours a week and would like to be part of the news team - let us know. An application form can be found on this website, or pick one up from our office. You would have some fun, and you would provide an important community service in the development of timely news reports.
