You might think that Minden in 2016 has little in common with Minden of a century before. But if you eavesdrop on Annie, Mable and Rose as they plan the 1922 spring Women’s Institute fund-raiser, you’re in for a surprise. Is being married and having children all it’s cracked up to be? Do small town residents need to keep abreast of what happens in the big world to be good citizens and informed voters? Does council rationalize charging rent to community volunteers who meet in municipal facilities to plan fund-raisers that pay for amenities bumped from the budget by the voracious needs of the roads?
All this and more at the Canoe Radio Hall stage on Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Written by Fay Martin, directed by David McGill, starring Kate Hall as Annie, Kate Butler as Mable, and Sue Tiffin as Rose.
