So – why do I love my Valentine? We are going on 20 years this October. She has been with me through ups and downs, moves and restarts. She has put up with me all these years, my little quirks, the times when i stress her out, three beautiful children, two dogs, two cats, several gold fish, three hamsters, one gecko , one bearded dragon. This list goes on and on……Thank you Melanie for saying yes so many years ago.

I heard of your contest on the radio today and would like my sister Tammy to win and I will just give a few reasons why, my whole life my sister has been more than a sister when we were younger she was and had to be a mother figure, cooking cleaning and taking care of me and my younger sister. When I was 27 I was pregnant with my second child and my husband was killed in an accident, I was really sick, my sister came to my home cooked meals to make sure me and my older boy were eating, cleaned my house and laid beside me night after night wiping my tears away while holding me. Than when I was 38 I had a rare heart attack and had to have a triple bypass surgery, there was complications and I was there for 30 days, she took in my two boys and took care of them like her own, even though she had her own husband and children and ran her own business. When I got home she cleaned my home and made sure I was okay! Tammy McKee is the most unselfish caring women I have ever met, I will never be able to thank her enough for what she has done for me in my life, and she deserves to be spoiled and this is a great opportunity to show her how much I appreciate and love her!! Thank you so much for this opportunity. Natasha Coumbs

Here is my entry for the Valentine’s Day contest:
My love is a songbird with a tune, a writer with wit, a friend for all time and a husband that’s mine.
He’s kind and upbeat, compassionate and sweet.
The apple of my eye, he has a love for blueberry pie.
He loves me through and through, even when I’m blue.
Soon the two of us will become three, when we welcome our little sweet pea.
Our love grows more and more each year, just like his love for beer.
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings, his love means more to me then things.
Happy Valentine’s Day to my best friend, it’s life with you I want to spend.

My special Valentine of 51 years (Irene Fisher) is a wonderful person who really deserves to win the Wind In The Willows Valentines gift basket.
I hurt my left hand on December 22nd and since then Irene has had to carry the load for both of us, being my chauffeur and keeping the snow under control, in addition to all of her other daily activities. She is a beautiful person inside and out and really deserves a break after what this winter has thrown at us.

I would like to enter your upcoming valentines contest.
I would like to submit my daughters name Sue Tiffin as I think she could really use a pampering.
She is a very busy mother in the community. Right now she is really involved in organizing Catch the Cure for Angelman Syndrome event coming up next saturday Feb 18th in Minden.. She has two children Harper age 4 and Lennon age 2.. Harper involves a lot of extra care as she suffers from angelman syndrome, which with the slightest fever or upset she can go into seizures. She is nocturnal, very little sleep during the night or any time and requires special diets. She does not not walk or talk, which we are hoping for a cure. Its probable more than possible as scientists are working on a cure. and clinical trials are now in progress. Her diagnosis requires regular trips to Sick kids and cheo in Ottawa. Sue gets rundown but never stops volunteering or pushing for betterment for her family and community. Her husband is a great help with the kids too, but for two weeks is out of town for his job, which is very hard on both of them. We as parents do what we can to help and always available.
I think Sue would be a good candidate for a boost of pamper. Hope she has a good chance to be selected.
Her parents Ben and Valerie Carr,

I WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT Wendy Ladurantaye,s name. I believe she deserves a spa treatment and pampered for what she has been threw the last couple months. I am her husband Brian, on15Jan17, I was admitted to RMH in Lindsay with a severe case of pulmonary edema pneumonia, I was in hospital for 13days.
Here are the reasons I think Wendy deserves to be pampered and a day at the spa.
History: Wendy works at Flemming CollegeHaliburton School of Arts and design, age 61 DONT METION THAT. We live on a farm the two of us We have seven horses that need to tended daily grained hay water before being turned out for the day make sure there is plenty of hay for them in the field for the day With the help of family and great friends while in was in hospital. that was my job.
While I was in hospital she would drive down every day to comfort me, at times if did know she was there,
I was released from hospital on 24Jan14. Kids had returned home to take care of there interest.
Now the work really started , a trip to get new meds Wendy was now my private nurse making sure meds were all in order,
Wendy,s day would start getting up threw the night to make sure I was ok, awake at seven o clock check on me, then go out into the cold barn feed the horses put hay out in big field so horses would have enough feed for the day come back into house make me breakfast and arrange pills then do housecleaning then make me lunch and took my pills ,. Evening would come back out to prepare barn for horses to come in making sure they had water hay and grain. there are seven stalls , when done she would come in and make me supper and give me my meds.We have wood furnace she keep it going not going to bed till about eleven o clock this went on day for about another five day short nights sleeps will plenty of work .
I started to feel a little better so Wendy decided to go back to work but not before getting up at seven going out to the barn to do chores feed and turnout put enough day in field for horses for day come in cook me breakfast then go to work to rest a break when she come home from busy day at work . Wendy go out to barn get barn ready to let horses in hay water and grain, come back into house make supper and take care of me.
Although I am getting better
Wendy is still doing morning chores before goin into work, I can go out and let them in at night time.
I know the is rather lengthy but I believe that Wendy if anyone should win the contest. ,Wendy has done this short sleep hours long day physical days and has never complained the old grey mare not what she use to be but still better than most here body is stiff and sore and that is why she should be in the running.
I think my valentine sweetheart is worthy this prize,we be married 40years this May
Wendy became my private angel give to me to help threw difficult times
Thank you for your consideration

My ‘Special Someone’ is my dear wife, Margaret. We have been married for 42 years now, a clear indication that she is an absolute Saint for having put up with me and my shenanigans for all that time. And she has blessed me with two wonderful daughters. She constantly shows her love, compassion and friendly nature with family, friends and neighbours. She is beautiful, wise and the supportive foundation of our family.
While working as a Registered Nurse at Haliburton Extendicare, she readily gained the trust and appreciation of residents, their families, physicians and her colleagues. She made each of their lives just a bit more cheery.
She sits down with me to watch the Bruins and pretends to be interested in the game. She even knows the name of 3 or 4 players.
She also joins me to watch the Packers and pretends to understand what’s going on. She even high fives me at the right moments.
She lets me listen to Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Tom Russell until her ears hurt.
When I bring home little trinkets from the Thrift Warehouse, she only throws out some of them.
But that’s not all, my dear wife recently retired and is now spending every moment of every day with me…..and she hasn’t yet killed me or asked me to move out.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Pumpkinhead!
